Before I was a mother there were things I said I would NEVER do...
*Co-sleeping
That went out the window literally the day she came home. I sleep with her on my chest, with her next to me, and with her on the couch. Sometimes, she sleeps in her pack n' play but not for very long and not very often. We are working on getting her to sleep in her pack n' play next to our bed more because I go back to work in 3 weeks and will need more sleep than I am getting now.
*Formula Feed
I breastfed her for the first 4 days until she got really jaundice and would not latch on at all. I then had to pump and bottle feed her my breastmilk. After that she would not take the breast any longer, so I had to exclusively pump and bottle feed her the breastmilk. When she got to be about 2 weeks, she started eating more, but I for some reason wasn't producing more. So at about 3 weeks I had to start supplementing with formula because I was not producing enough milk to satisfy her. She is still getting 2-3 ounces of breastmilk a feeding and then about an ounce of formula.
*Tummy Sleep
After realizing she sleeps better and longer on her tummy, I let her nap on her tummy during the day. However, at night I do not put her on her tummy because I can't monitor her while I am asleep. I am too worried about her not being able to breath or SIDS if she sleeps on her tummy while I can't monitor her breathing.
There are more things I am sure, but those are the three main things that have changed.
In other news, Isabella is adjusting great. She sleeps about 4-5 hours at a time most nights. We have our second doctor's appointment on Friday. She will be 4 weeks old on Friday. I can't believe it. Time sure has flown by! I am loving every minute of being her mommy. She is already a mommy's girl :) I just adore it! Well she is asleep so I better utilize this time to get some rest too! Good night :)
4 weeks already? WOW!!!!
