Looks Like..

Monday is the day! I went to the doctor this morning and I am still at 4cm and not made any progress since last week. So I will be induced on Monday August 2nd at 5 a.m. I am so excited and just can't believe that this time next week I will be holding my baby girl and taking (and posting) lots of pictures!!!

Her heartbeat was strong at 144 beats and my blood pressure was perfect. My doctor says that we should have a baby by 1pm on Monday because after my water is broke it should go fast. He said that the first 5cm are the hardest and that I already have 4cm out of the way so it should go a little faster for me :) That was nice to hear!

So stay tuned for some good news on Monday :)

No baby yet & Random pictures

Yep, no baby yet. We are still patiently waiting for Miss Isabella to make her arrival. I have been having consistent contractions for almost 2 weeks now and my body is exhausted. I have only been working part time during the day but today was my last day to work until after my maternity leave is over. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. so maybe I will be dilated enough to go to the hospital. I have had 3 episodes of "false labor" now. I only went to the hospital for one and the other two I have waited out and they went away (obviously, ha!) I will be induced on Monday August 2nd at 5 a.m., if she does not make her appearance on her own before then. That is only 5 days away!! I can't believe it. I will update tomorrow (if I am able to) and hopefully we will have a clearer view of what is going to happen over the next few days. Please pray things go well and that our baby girl is healthy and happy!

On July 6th, our little man, Elijah turned 6 years old. We didn't do a big birthday party for him because he went on a vacation with my in-laws to Silver Dollar City. He had a great time. But here are some pictures from the little present opening we did.

Also, a few weekends ago, when Elijah was on his vacation with MeMe and Pawpaw, we took Kirsten to the zoo. We met a high school friend of Noah's there, who has 2 girls right around Kirsten's age, and they had a blast.

Update on Pregnancy...

It has been a while since I have posted an update about me and Miss Isabella so I wanted to write all the things that have happened so I don't forget them.

Last Thursday (07/15), I had my normal OB visit appointment. I was dilated 3 cm, 80% effaced and the doctor said she was pretty low in my pelvis.

Friday was a normal work day, I trained a new girl on my position at work and just had a pretty normal day.

Saturday, I got up early and had to take my last test of the semester for school (FYI-I passsed..done until August 1st). I had a long ways to walk to get to the building to take the test and it kind of exhausted me and I knew that wasn't normal even though I am pregnant. I came home and rested for a while. We went to a picnic at our church and stayed for about an hour and a half before I got really dizzy and just had to get out of the heat. Later that night, I started having contractions that were more regular (about 15 minutes apart) but I didn't pay much attention because they were still far apart.

Sunday, I woke up and was still contracting about 15 to 20 minutes apart. We skipped Sunday school and just went to the worship service/sermon. We relaxed for the afternoon and then dropped the kids off back at their moms house. Later we drove to my Aunt's new house about 30 minutes from our house to visit with her and my little brother who was also down visiting her (from AR). By that time, I was contracting about every 7-9 minutes. Still not thinking much of it at that point because they were bareable. As I sat at her house, they got closer together and stronger/longer. I started getting sick to my stomach and having a really awful headache. Finally, Me, my little brother, and Noah decided to head to the labor and delivery department at the hospital I am delivering at. I got checked in and I was still dilated to 3 cm and 80% effaced.

They started monitoring my contractions which were at this point about 5-6 minutes apart. I was also having what they called "uterine irritability" which was causing me some pain. They did a urine culture because I was having pain while urinating. My urine culture was negative. After monitoring my contractions for about an hour they gave me a shot to stop the "uterine irritability". About an hour after that shot, they checked me again and I had not made any progress from the contractions (ugh!) so they sent me home with a sleeping pill at about midnight.

Needless to say, I didn't sleep much that night. I woke up Monday morning still contracting and feeling sick. However, I had not fully trained my temp girl at work so I went ahead and went to work for a couple hours. Monday night I started having very intense contractions about 3-4 minutes apart. But the nurses (and my doctor) had told me the night before at the hospital that I didn't need to come back until the contractions were so intense that I could not handle them. But I just gritted my teeth and held my breath (I know you are supposed to breath and NOT hold your breath but it is an automatic reaction for me) and made it through the contractions. I laid down and tried to fall asleep..apparently I was so exhausted that I was able to fall asleep after about an hour. I woke up several times with intense contractions but still fell back asleep.

Tuesday (today) morning I woke up and my contractions had gone back down to every 5-7 minutes and were not near as intense. (ugh, again!) So I went back to work for just the morning time. I came home and napped for about 3 hours as well, because I have not been sleeping but for about 4-5 hours each night.

Now as I am typing this, my contractions are about 5-7 minutes apart still and some are more intense than others.

So as a recap, I have been in labor for 3 days!!!! I am sooo tired and really ready for my baby girl to make her appearance :) I think she will be here (I am being really really hopeful) by this weekend.

I hope you all are having a grand week! I hope my next post is telling you she has made it :)

A little scare.

After having several (about 4-5) braxton hicks contractions in an hour plus having some "leaking fluid" (I know that is gross, but part of pregnancy) I called my doctor yesterday (07/12) afternoon and he told me I should go to the hospital to get checked just to make sure my water wasn't breaking or leaking.

A co-worker of mine drove me to the hospital, she was too worried to let me drive myself. ha! I got checked in and they did some tests on me. It turned out to be nothing. My contractions had almost stopped by then and my water had not broken or leaked. So it turned out fine but did scare me at first. I am not ready for her to come yet :) Lol. Well I am, but I am not! Does that make any sense?!

They monitored her heartrate and I loved hearing that "thump thump thump" on the monitor...it was awesome. I could have sat there all night and listened to that sweet sound!

I go back for my regular visit on Thursday to my OB. I can't wait to meet my precious baby girl! I also can't believe that in less than 3 weeks I will be! *unless she comes earlier on her own!*

*P.S. I have been an awful blogger lately. I have two posts that need to go up and I promise (well sort of) to get them up this week :)

Hope you are all having a great week!

Weekly OB Check Up-36 weeks!

Yesterday (07/08) I had my 36 week OB checkup.  It was just the normal pee in a cup, blood pressure, weight, cervical check. My GBS (Group B streptococcus) culture came back positive from my last weeks exam.  My doctor assured me (over and over) that is was not a huge deal.  I will just have to have antibiotics the entire time I am in labor to ensure that I do not pass it on to Isabella.  He is confident that won't happen.

Here are our most recent stats:

-Gained 38 lbs so far

-Isabella’s heart rate was 140

-My blood pressure was pretty low, but he just said I need to make sure I drink enough water and stay well hydrated

-dilated 2 cm

-effaced 60%

-Lost my mucus plug (is that not the nastiest word?!)

Also, he wants me to be induced on August 2nd if she does make her appearance before then.  He has several reasons to wanting this, one being the GBS and some other personal medical problems I have.  (not going to discuss those here though) So I am going to be doing a lot of walking to get her to come on her own before I have to be induced.  After talking with some of the great ladies in the MckMama forum and the Single Infertile Female forum I really decided that letting her come on her own was the best idea.  I guess my doctor has other plans…but I just have to trust him.  So at the very latest, we will be meeting our baby girl in 3 weeks and 3 days!! I can’t believe it is this close :)

Here is my 36 week belly update:

 36 weeks

Getting BIG! ha!

Please pray that Miss Isabella decides to come on her own before August 2nd, so that I don’t have to be induced :) Thanks! Hope you have a great weekend.  I am going to the Zoo to walk, walk, walk :)

Dr Appt-35 weeks!

Yesterday (07/01) I had my weekly doctor’s appointment.  I had to do my Strep B culture, which was by no means fun, but not really that bad.  My doctor’s appointments are really brief…I am usually in and out in about 20 minutes.  It is really nice.

Here are the most recent stats:

-Dilated 1 cm

-40% effaced

-Isabella’s heartrate is slowing down now..It was 136!

-Blood pressure perfect

-I weigh 158 (which is a total weight gain of 38 lbs)

Dr. said it would be “soon” or about 2.5-3 weeks is his guess! I am so excited and can’t believe things are getting “serious” in the baby having department. ha!

And here is my 35 week belly shot!

35 weeks

I could not be happier! I am just waiting patiently for her to make her debut!
