Recently...

Not much going on in our little lives recently. I am work full time, go to school full time, and then hubby goes to school full time (to two different colleges). So we don't have time for much in our lives. Lol.

We do have some fun stuff coming up though!

THANKSGIVING!!!

Thanksgiving in my family is a huge deal. We have family, extended family, friends, extended friends' family, and people off the street. Ok well maybe not people off the street but if they wanted to come they would be welcome.

I mean seriously, my mom and dad have been divorced since I was very young (3ish maybe?) and they both come to the same Thanksgiving. My step mom and her family attends too! We love it!!

Thanksgiving is a time for fun, food, family and fellowship! We have it in my Aunt's church and it is such a good time.

Then BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING!!! Are any of you other ladies going shopping on Black Friday? I love it! :) Not just for the good deals but to watch everyone else in their madness!! ha ha. It cracks me up!

My in laws are taking a mini vacation for Thanksgiving! They deserve it so much and I know they are going to have a blast..even though we will miss them!

That is all recently...I hope to have some interesting stories soon!

Thank You Very Much!

The Daily Dribbles

I love Thursdays because of "Thank You Very Much"! Head over to Kmama's blog for more Thank You Very Much posts.

-To the office building in which I have to spend at least 9 hours a day, and who insists on having the thermostat set on 57 degrees in the winter/fall, therefore causing me to be extremely miserable (a.k.a. PISSY!)..Thank you very much!

-To my mother in law's car, that randomly decided to not start last night after dinner, and causing us to ask a guy in shorts and a tshirt (it was 37 outside) to stand outside (in the cold) and give us a jump...Thank you very much!

-To my school, who takes at least 5 days to grade a paper and causes me to stress about how I did for that amount of time...Thank you very much!

-To our clients (again!), that allow their children to bang very loudly and with force on our television in our lobby causing the things on top of it to fall off and break...Thank you very much!

Whew..that was nice. Thanks Kmama for hosting!

Letters of Intent

Letters of Intent

Dear Clients:

I have a couple bones to pick with you. Why do you insist on bringing your entire family into our lobby? If your mom can come with you and watch your kids while you see the attorney..then why can't she watch them at home?!? We certainly do not like to hear your children screaming in the lobby while you are doing nothing but ignoring them and talking on your cell phone.

Also, please eat your breakfast/lunch/dinner before you come into our office. Our lobby is not a picnic area so therefore, food should not be eaten in there.

One more thing, when you call to ask us a question, do not say "can you hold on?" as soon as we answer the phone. More than likely my answer will be "sure" and then I hang up. If you are not ready to talk to us, don't dial our number.

Thanks,
The really annoyed Paralegal

Dear Facebook,

Please stop telling me to add someone as my friend, if I have 2 mutual friends with them or 70 mutual friends with them, the chances are more likely than not that I do not want to be their friend on Facebook.

Also, just because I have not talked to someone in a while does not mean that I WANT to talk to them. As stated before, more than likely, I do not want to talk to them so therefore I haven't.

Thanks,
Facebook User

Compelled

Do you ever feel like Christ is pulling you to do something? I have felt that way for a while now and I can not figure out what he is wanting me to do. My husband protests at the abortion clinic here locally and I am set to volunteer at Life Choices starting in January.

But I don't feel like this is enough. For some reason I feel the burden of the world on me. I know that is probably my own fault for being so sensitive but I feel it strongly.

I tell my husband I want to sponsor kids in other countries..or our country. Honestly though, we are so broke until Hubby starts working again in February. Is it bad to still want to help another child, when we are struggling? I feel like God will provide for us no matter what.

I don't know how to explain this feeling. My heart breaks when I see pictures of kids without homes, parents, or families. Even when a child does have a family, but they are living in pure poverty, it breaks my heart.

I am having an emotional day today. I just don't know what to do..or how I can help.

Thank You Very Much!

The Daily Dribbles

Today is "Thank you Very Much" Thursday at The Daily Dribbles, so I figured I would play along too!

-To my husband (who refuses to think he is sick and therefore does not go to the doctor) who woke up in the middle of the night throwing his guts up and scared the holy jeepers out of me (and his parents!)...Thank you very much!

-To the management of our building who think that 59 degrees is a suitable temperature for November, and therefore causing me to FREEZE my hiney off everyday at work..Thank you Very much!

-To the awful Memphis drivers who do not pay attention and almost hit me and my friend 3 times while crossing the street (we had the walk symbol) to get some lunch...Thank you very much!

-To our clients that are doing credit counseling on speakerphone and feel that it is necessary to scream so loudly into the speakerphone that I can hear them 3 offices away...Thank you very much!

- To our clients (again) who deem it necessary to wear so much perfume/cologne that it makes us gag when walking through our lobby...Thank you very much!

Whew..that was therapeutic!

Can I just say...

That I feel like God has been testing me lately. I mean I seriously feel like things have fallen apart but then gotten better rather quickly when I didn't complete flip out about them. I have noticed before that when something "bad" happens that I flip out and it seems to drag on and on. But the last few days God has been throwing some things my way and I have reacted calm, cool and collected and they seem to be fixed MUCH faster than when I freak out.

I admit...I have super bad anxiety and worry about just about everything. But honestly lately I have been more laid back than usual. Even in my job, which I don't particularly care for these days, I have been content and non stressed! I love that.

Now my school has been sort of a different situation. It has taken some coaxing from my husband to get me to calm down.

*A little fact about Cori...I HATE research, I HATE essays and I especially HATE research essays!*

And guess what I happen to be doing in my language class???

Yep you guessed it! A research essay!! ugh!

I am really trying to just finish it and not worry about the grade but that is really no way to be. So after much persuasion from my husband, I have decided to just get it done. Work on it 2 hours a night and not stress myself over it. I think that is the best way to do it! He is so smart...I knew I married him for a reason! :)

This post really does not make any sense but I just wanted to say those few little things.

On a different note:

I am super excited about this weekend because my niece and my mommy are coming up from AR to visit us and go to our local zoo. If you have never been to the Memphis Zoo...You NEED to go!! It is so awesome...we have season passes and really never get tired of it. I admit that sometimes I con the kids into wanting to go just so I can go! ha ha.

Well I guess that is all for now!

Not Me! Monday

Although MckMama is more than likely not doing her usual Not Me! Monday..I figured I would go ahead and do mine. Please continue to pray for baby Stellan!

Last weekend I most certianly did not allow my children to drink hot chocolate at 9 p.m. because that is what I was drinking and I was too lazy to go downstairs and make some tea. I am not that lazy and would never allow them to have chocolate at such a late hour. Not me!

I have not procrastinated in doing my essay for my language class for so long that I am going to have to stay up late tonight and finish it because it is due tomorrow. I always do my homework first thing and never wait until the last minute to turn it in.

Behind my boss' back I most certainly did not throw away old junk that she insisted we keep, even though it was useless and could never be used again. I would never disobey my boss...no not me!

I have not been allowing our oldest (5) to play the nintendo all the time just to give me some peace and quiet. I would never go against the "rules" of the nintendo just to have some quiet. I am an attentive mother and would never allow this to happen.

Well that is all for this week!! Hopefully next week baby Stellan will be feeling better and MckMama will be back for her Not Me! Monday!
