Catch Up Post!!

We have been doing lots of fun things in our neck of the woods recently, but I have neglected blogging about them.  I know that makes me an awful person..well maybe not just an awful blogger. Lol.  So here is the past few weeks in pictures.

We took the kids on their first skating outing…here is how that went:

Rotten Monday!!

Today I have had a rotten Monday!! I am not sure anything else could go wrong..well I am sure there could but I don't want to think about it!

Lets rewind back to this morning...I woke up, woke my 3 yr old up, got her dressed, fed her, sat her in front of the tv so I could get ready...got ready (my hair of course would not do right), was late getting out the door. Hubby calls 2 minutes after I leave and says "My van keys are in your purse..I need them!" I have to turn around go back to the house and give hubby the keys. I then run over something on our street and drag it several blocks until I can pull over at a gas station..unknown something is now gone and my car is not making funny noises now. So I stopped for no reason. These two incidents make me late for work. Fun!

I get to work, have a not so pleasant e-mail from my boss, learn I am having to train the boss' son-in-law, and have tons of messages from the weekend to answer. Fun, again!

The morning goes pretty smoothly, except for all my crazy clients seem to be calling. Lunch time comes and I get out my Healthy Choice steamer for lunch, take it into the lunch room, proceed to open said Healthy Choice steamer and all over the floor goes my rice and entire lunch! Fun!!

I then get my keys and proceed to go to McDonald's for lunch, before getting out of the drive of my work, I realize I don't have my debit card. Phone Rings. Hubby says he lost his wallet (with my debit card in it) and that I need to call the bank and cancel my card. I look to see if I have any cash..only $100 bill!! I go inside my office to see if there is change..only $95 worth of change! Are you kidding me?? I take it anyways. Go to McDonald's get some Chicken Nuggets, go back to work and Voila..my chicken nuggets are burnt!! Wow..could this day get any better!!??

I then have to pick up my 5 yr old from Kindergarten at 3:15..I leave work in plenty of time to get there, walk up to where he is supposed to be..don't see him. Hmmm..then the Teacher tells me that his mom picked him up. It is our week and she just didn't want me to pick him up! So I took off work, drove all the way to pick him up and she (to be spiteful) picks him up instead! Then she proceeds to call Hubby and yell at him about me picking him up. Can we say grown up??

So now, I am sitting at work (almost fuming) and really ready to go home and drink some wine.

Oh and did I mention that my teacher has not graded my essay that I turned in almost a week ago!! C'mon!!

Well God always tests us and I guess this is my test for the week! At least I really hope so!

Things Are Kind Of Crazy Around Here

Yep things in the Beach household have been pretty crazy. The wedding is 16 (well 15 considering today is almost over) days away!! I am so excited, nervous, anxious, scared...all in one! The planning of this wedding has been such a joy but boy am I glad that the planning is OVER and I am completely done :) yay. All I have to do now is sit back and relax and wait for the day to get here (yea right!)

I have my bridal portraits on Sunday followed by dress shopping with my mom (yes you heard me right..we are 2 weeks away from my wedding and my mom STILL hasn't gotten a dress to wear!) Ugh.

Lately, I have been struggling with my migraines again (no fun!!) but I am almost certain that they are related to stress with the wedding being so close. As a matter of fact, I have one as I type. I really hope they subside after the stress of the wedding goes away (but who knows!)

Update on my cousin:
She and her husband buried their son yesterday in a small beautiful ceremony. I have spoken with my mom about her and she is doing ok (as ok as imaginable). Please continue to keep her family in your prayers.

Update on my Mother in Law:
She has more procedures being done tomorrow. The doctors are saying the surgery will be sometime after our wedding in October. We really hoped we could have it put off so that was a relief. She will still have to undergo radiation but not chemotherapy. Also, please continue to keep her in your prayers.

But on a lighter note, my (soon to be) hubby got placed as the Chair of Saving Lives, an anti-abortion group of our church. He is called to do something about all the abortions in this country and I believe and Thank our Father that he has this opportunity. We will be dedicating a lot of our time to this program and outreach in our community. We are very excited that God has allowed us to do this with our lives.

Well since all my posts lately have been picture-less, I will share this with you:

Faith & Prayer

I have started a new blog called Faith & Prayer. It is for anyone and everyone that has a prayer request or just needs to have other people pray for them. You can post to me anonymously if you want or just leave your name so the other women (and men) that will be praying for you know what your needs are. Even though HE knows your needs without you telling Him!

Please visit my blog and let us lift your prayers up to HIM!

God Bless!

The Funny Things Kids Say...Part 2

Over the weekend we had our oldest..Elijah from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon. During said time we have this conversation:

Elijah: "Did you have this batman toy?"

Me: "Nope I am a girl"

E: "Why not??..Not even when you were little?"

Me: "No honey I was STILL a girl then and I didn't play with little boy toys"

E: "Well that is weird that you are a girl."

Me: "Why is that weird?"

E: "Because you can't play with really cool batman toys."

Me: "Ohhh ok!"

We then had a conversation about why God makes boys..boys and girls..girls. I told him that God just makes us either a boy or a girl when our mommy's are still pregnant with us. He then tells me that he was a baby once..I told him I knew that. Then he proceeded to tell me this:

"When I was a baby..Kirsten was no where"

I didn't quite understand what he meant and made him repeat it and then I explained to him that he was older than Kirsten therefore he was born first...then he says...

"God made me first so I could play with my toys without Kirsten always taking them and hiding them from me!"

I laughed out loud really hard!!

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse into our 5 year old's mind! He is a hoot!

Prayer Update

Thank you all so much for your prayers for my cousin. Unfortunately, last night her baby boy, whom she named Jarred, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a very hard time for her and our family. The doctors are saying she will have to have a hysterectomy because there is so much damage done to her internal organs. So she is dealing with the loss of her first child and also with the fact that she will never be able to have a healthy child.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers as they prepare to bury their son.

Thankful Thursday

Today is a day set aside (in the bloggy world) to say what you are Thankful for!

I am thankful that we live in a free country and have freedom of religion so that I can proclaim that I am a child of God!

I am thankful for my fiance, Noah, who puts up with me during all my madness and wedding anxiety!

I am thankful for parents who love me and care for me unconditionally.

I am thankful for sunshine (mostly because we have not had any the past week and I miss it!!)

I am thankful to be working and still be able to go back to school to pursue my real passion..Teaching!

I am thankful for friends who let me vent non stop about how stressed out I am and never judge.

I am thankful for being blessed with a house, car and other luxuries that other people are not.

That is my Thankful List this week.

Speaking of Thankful...I can't wait for Thanksgiving! Yummm...Turkey, Dressing, Corn, Tators...my mouth is drooling thinking about it!

Wordless Wednesday

Noah & Elijah

Our Lives Recently

Let's see..what have we been up to recently? Working, School, of course wedding planning, (24 days to go..in case you were wondering) and a little bit of sadness.

On Tuesday I took my final exam (my first one since starting college) and I made an 84% in the class! It was a Language and Communications class. I am really proud of myself! I was really nervous about that whole thing but it turned out I was nervous for nothing.

Work lately has been stressful for me because I just feel myself becoming more and more distant from the girls that work here, who I used to be friends with. I am not sure what the reason for this distance is but it is definitely there.

We have been dealing with some rough news lately as well. My fiance's mom (Teresa aka MiMi) was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of weeks ago. The doctor's say it is not life threatening but she will have to have the lumps removed and also go through radiation. She was really worried about this being so close to the wedding but the doctors have agreed to allow her to wait until after the wedding is over to have any treatments. She goes next Thursday for another MRI and Ultrasound. We pray that it is not anywhere else besides where they already pinpointed it at. Our family is just giving it all to God and know that His Will will be done.

I also found out some not so great news this morning. My 21 year old cousin is 26 weeks pregnant and she started hemorrhaging this morning. She has been in the hospital all day but the doctors are not giving her baby a very good survival rate. She was raped several times as a young child by her step father and the doctors are saying that messed up her reproductive organs. If she loses the baby, the doctors say that she will not be able to have any more kids and will need a hysterectomy. Hard news for a 21 year old newlywed.

UPDATE: After posting this I spoke with my mom, she stated that my cousin is only 22 1/2 weeks pregnant and she is still in the hospital. She went in to labor and dialated to a 4 but they stopped it. In the mean time she lost almost all of her amniotic fluid. They have her on bed rest until they can deliver the baby after he has developed more. They are not sure of the outcome yet. Please continue to lift this couple up in prayer!

Please keep these people in your prayers that God's Will be done in their lives. Amen.

The Funny Things Kids Say

I don’t know about you but our kids say the funniest things!! Recently here are a few I have heard…

Elijah: “I want to be an army man”

Me: Really? Why?

E: So I can kill dinosaurs!

Me: Baby, there aren’t dinosaurs anymore.

E: Yes there is..on the island remember?? (we had previously watched Jurassic Park…I had to think about what he was taking about!)

Me: Oh that is a movie honey.

E: Yes I know..a movie about army men and dinosaurs!!

Also this weekend we had a chat about cars & trucks here is how that went:

Elijah: I need to put gas in my car.

Me: Oh you do? Why is that?

E: Because cars go slow when you don’t have gas in them and I want my cars to go fast.

Who knew?? Lol.

On Sunday morning Kirsten had several excuses for not wanting to eat breakfast here they are:

“It is too dark outside to eat!”

“I need to clean my ears out.”

“I have something in my eye.”

Upon being asked where he got all his awesome dance moves, Elijah states to us:

“JESUS gave them to me!!”

Wow…I had no idea..why didn’t he give ME awesome dance moves! Just kidding!

I have lots more but that is all I will share for now!

Labor Day with the Family!

Ok seriously..this will be my last post of the day!

On Labor Day Noah and I took a quick trip to AR to hang out with my family for the day.  We enjoyed grilling out, playing horseshoes, and swimming!  It was supposed to rain all day but it only rained for about 20 minutes half way through the day, so we were very thankful for that.  Pictures from the day:

Praying for this Soldier!

I just want everyone to take a minute to pray for our soldiers overseas.  They do what they do for US…they fight and work hard everyday so we can have the freedom to do the things we do everyday.  We are here at home being able to love and kiss on our kiddos, while our soldiers are overseas not being able to hold and love on their babies/husbands/wives/family.  Everyone should pray for our soldiers everyday! I do!  I have mentioned in a post before about a very brave 19 year old in Afghanistan.  He is very dear to me.

Here is the soldier I am praying for daily:

Lots To Do..So Little Time!

Wow I can not believe that I have been planning this wedding since December '08 and now only have 37 days left!! I am pretty excited about it all because I have almost everything done.

The only things I have left to do are:

Buy gifts for the attendents/parents
Finalize the headcount

A much smaller list than I had here. Man time flies when you are having fun. I wrote that post when I had 87 days left and I thought THAT was close..now 50 days have passed and I am even MORE excited!!

Noah means so much to be as I have previously stated here. I just can not imagine life without him!

Well that is all for now! 37 days and counting...

1 year ago today, I met (in person) the man of my dreams.  The man I knew immediately that I was going to marry.  I kissed him for the first time. I hugged, touched, loved him for the first time.  It is a day I will never forget.  He means everything to me.

A little background info on me and Noah.  Noah and I met on Eharmony.  For those of you who do not know what Eharmony is (apparently you live in a box OR never watch TV) but it is a Christian dating site.  I was really weary of doing it at first because I felt it made me look desperate, which I wasn’t.  I had just gone through a divorce and just felt that I needed to find someone with the same values and principles as me.  Boy am I glad I made the decision to join the site.  Noah was not one for “rules”.  The “rules” of Eharmony state that you need to go through a process of questions and answers before actually e-mailing the other individual.  Well he sent me an e-mail that went something like this “My name is Noah.  My number is _________..my e-mail is __________..I like your profile..if you want to talk e-mail me back”.  Very romantic huh?? I was kind of like “gee..that is weird”  But I e-mailed him back anyway.  And I am so glad that I did.

Here is the first picture we ever took together:

092808181041[1]

It is kind of blurry because it was taken with my cell phone camera.  We sure have changed over the past year.  But one thing that has not changed is my love for him!

39 more days until I am Mrs. Noah Beach! I can’t wait!
