Absence...
It has been so long since I have posted...sorry!! I have been so busy with work and being pregnant..oh and not to mention SICK!!
I have been so sick with this pregnancy. I really hope that as I near the end of my first trimester that I feel better soon. I feel selfish saying this..but I want the "old Cori" back (just with a baby inside). I have had major morning (all day really) sickness and heartburn. I go back to the doctor for my next visit on January 14th, so if I am not feeling better by then I am going to ask him for some sort of anti-nausea medication.
We had a very Merry Christmas and I promise to post pictures of it all very soon! Hopefully tomorrow while I am off work I can get some catch up posts done!
So just bear with me...I will be back soon!

Not Me! Monday
On Friday, while having my 5 year old at work with me, I did not use him as an excuse to leave early because I was super exhausted from working and watching a 5 year old in my office. I am much more honest than that!
Last night, I did not get myself so worked up over a nasty phone call from a person that is out to make our lives miserable, that I almost made myself throw up. I am not so childish as to let another adult make me that upset!
Yesterday, I most certainly did not stay in my pj's without a shower until 4 p.m. because I was so tired and could not muster up the energy to get off the couch/out of the bed/off the floor, etc. I am up and at 'em before the rest of the house and full of energy for the day.
Today I also did not change my item for the sweet exchange at work from oreo balls to rice krispy treats because I did not want to put that much effort into it.
What have you NOT done this week? Head on over to MckMama's blog and join along :)

Our First Doctor's Appointment
I had my first prenatal visit yesterday with my OB/GYN. I was so nervous before going in there. I felt like vomiting the whole time, luckily I didn't.
They drew blood, took blood pressure, I got the H1N1 shot and the regular flu shot, peed in a cup and got an exam.
I loved every bit of it because I knew in just a few short minutes I would be getting to see my baby for the first time.
I am 6 weeks 6 days today. I am due on August 7th. I am so excited!!
We got to hear the baby's heartbeat at 127 beats per minute. It was amazing. I loved it. I am so much more laid back now that I know everything is ok!

Oh the joys...
Of heartburn that radiates to my knee caps...
Of nausea that forces me to be late for work..all the time...
Of tiredness that is making me fall behind on my schoolwork...
and
Of hormones that make me have mood swings..like craziness...
OH the JOYS of
PREGNANCY!!
***But for real, I love being pregnant, even though I am not far along, I enjoy knowing that my little bundle of JOY is the one that makes me have those JOYS OF PREGNANCY!!

Update on the Baby Front.
Ok so this will be short and sweet. I have told our families about the baby now..everyone is very excited for us!
We also told our other two babies. That was funny...Here are their responses:
Elijah: "Really? I don't want to share a room with him!" You see he said him assuming it is a boy! ha ha.
Kirsten: "Oh I can play with her in my stroller and take care of her!" ha ha you see the pattern...her.
Elijah is stuck on the baby being a boy and Kirsten wants a girl. ha ha. They are so super funny! They look at my belly and Elijah announces.."it is already getting bigger!" Ummm NO it is not..I just have a pudge..I had that before I was pregnant! ha ha.
Kids..they are funny.
My first OB/GYN appointment is next Thursday the 17th at 3 p.m. I can't wait!!! I am super nervous but excited!!
Well that is all for now!

True Story Tuesday-The BIG News!
On Sunday, November 29th, I woke up not feeling too swell, but I got up got dressed as usual and got the kids and husband ready for church. While at church I really started to feel bad, I could barely breath due to my sinuses being so blocked and I had a hacking cough. I went home and started dosing myself up with some sinus meds and cough syrup.
Monday, I went to work and had a really bad day, sinuses, headaches, cough, and my ear started to really hurt me! I lasted all day even though I had every intention of leaving at lunch time.
Tuesday I woke up and could barely talk and my throat was killing me. So I called in sick to work and made an appointment with the doctor..my appointment wasn't until 1 p.m. so I slept right up until then.
I then went to my doctor's appointment, waited an hour before being called back (imagine that!) and finally got to see the doctor. I told him how I was feeling and he checked me out. He told me I had a sinus infection, ear infection, bronchitis and upper respiratory infection (FUN!) I then asked him for a sinus cocktail shot (because my MIL recommended it strongly) Dr. C said ok but he would have to do a pregnancy test first. So I gave them my specimen and returned to my room.
A nurse then came in our room and said..."Do you want to be pregnant?" I said to her "It does not matter, we were not trying so if it is negative I am ok with that". She just had a smirk on her face and said "ok." and walked out! I was then looking at my husband and saying to him "What the heck was that?" He was laughing too.
The doctor then came back in my room...holding a balloon and a pregnancy test. IT WAS POSITIVE!!! I was shocked...I asked him probably 50 times if he was kidding to which he replied "I do not kid about things like this."
I then started crying, felt like I was going to pass out. My doctor tore up my previous prescriptions for some really good cough syrup and antibiotics and wrote me a prescription for prenatal vitamins and a mild antibiotic.
So there I was in the doctor's office feeling like absolute crap and he tells me I am pregnant!
So that is the story of how we found out about our little bundle of joy. I am 6 weeks today. Sonogram pictures to come soon!

Not Me! Monday
Last night I did not sleep on the couch out of my own will because our 5 year old and my husband would not stop laughing and moving around in the bed and I was not so irritated as to subject myself to discomfort all night. I am much more patient than that!
I did not allow both of our children to stay in their pj's almost all day on Saturday because I was too lazy to get up and get them some comfy clothes to wear. I am not that lazy and would never allow my children to stay in pj's all day.

Thankful Thanksgiving
I have been so super busy that I am just now getting around to telling you about my Thanksgiving in AR with my family.
Unfortunately, I did not take ONE picture (gasp..I know), but there was so much commotion that I completely got caught up in it all.
Thanksgiving in my family is huge! We have so many people there (inlaws, outlaws, uncles we haven't seen in years, etc.) No seriously, I can't explain to you how many different families we had there...and everyone was related to someone. Lol.
My mom and dad have been divorced since I was young (3-ish I think). But they attend the same Thanksgiving..along with my step-mom and her family. My daddy's family comes...and there are a lot of them. And then my aunts and uncles in-laws come!
We probably had about 40-50 people there this year. And LOTS of food..we had 2 turkeys and 1 ham, hashbrown casserole, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, stuffed mushrooms, mac n cheese, and TONS of desserts. I know we had way more food than that but I just can't remember it all.
This was the first year my hubby got to spend with my family at Thanksgiving and his number one question to me all day was "and how are they related?" and what is sad about that is sometimes I had to look at my dad and say "how are they related?" ha ha.
So much fun and fellowship!!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving too!!
